Ode to the Jumpsuit

There is something about jumpsuits that I find so sexy. Maybe its the effortless put together look they create, or maybe its just the fact that they seem to show off your shoulders and arms in the best way. Perfect for a daytime lunch, travel, or even dressed up for an evening summer party, jumpsuits are the quickest way to create a show stopping look. At 5 feet and about half an inch (every inch counts) tall, I have always been hesitant to try jumpsuits for fear that I would look like a tree stump. But paired with a pair of oh so boho chunky platform wedges would solve the smurf problem for me. This year jumpsuits are appearing in breezy fabrics with fierce prints, lace detailing, and hardware detail. There is a jumpsuit out there for every unique style, and I am loving the six shown below. Maybe if I do the MC Hammer dance, at least one of them will appear in my closet.

St. Patrick's Day

Now for the record, I am a native Brit but because of my natural red hair color (similar to a deep red wine) I get mistaken for being Irish almost all of the time. But, it is St. Patrick's Day so maybe I could go along with it for today no? I love holidays & all of the hype surrounding them. There is something about waking up on a holiday morning that just brings joy and happiness, or maybe it is the smell of baking holiday cookies. St. Patrick's day is one of those holidays where I am not truly sure how I love to celebrate it. While music festivals, big crowds clad in the holiday color, & green beer do have their rightful place on this day, I sometimes prefer the more calmer route by baking cookies and curling up with my boyfriend to watch BoonDock Saints. I have not yet decided which option I am going to take this year, but the cookies will be present no matter which route I take. First step, figuring out whether or not I want to wear green to avoid getting pinched. Is it a must to wear green on this holiday?

Splurge or Save

Finally the spring weather is starting to make its presence, which gives me the opportunity to reach for my breezy white dresses and colorful sandals. The combination of crisp white with a pop of color is a timeless one, and remains flirty & fun always. When I first spotted the Manolo Blahnik Patricia sandal, I was loving the hot pink color & comfortable suede, but not the price. The Steve Madden ASIIA Fabric Sandals are a great alternative in colors such as mauve, natural, yellow. And for the price, you can buy more than just one pair.

Spring Treat

There has been a surge of cupcake stores recently opening in the metro area over the past few months & I always love walking past them to catch a whiff of freshly baked cake and to oogle over the delectable designs of these delicious treats. Delicate cupcakes not only are a great dessert for any occasion, but can also provide the ultimate decoration for parties. Cupcakes are whimsical & elegant.

Blushing Babe

The dresses at the 2010 Academy Awards were bursting in shades of blush. This shade is one that I have always had a liking for, and is the ultimate feminine and calm color. One of my shopping goals this season is to add a collection of this gorgeous hue to my wardrobe.
